Artist Statement:
I started creating multi-layered collages using Adobe Photoshop Express when I was discharged from an outpatient psychiatric program in 2021. The process starts with a photo from my phone and then layers filters and overlays on top of the image until it’s unrecognizable. At the time, this process was a way of re-engaging with a creative practice that had fallen by the wayside due to the state of my mental health. Now, I use it as a quick exercise when I feel like doing something quick and creative.
